SuperRatings’ ratings methodology has been designed to reflect each funds’ ‘value for money’. Our ratings system covers six main assessment components; Investment, Fees, Insurance, Member Servicing, Administration and Governance.
Funds are ranked into quartiles, each containing 25% of the total market, depending on how they score in these assessment areas. An overall score is then determined across all assessment areas, with the funds in the top quartile, i.e. top 25% of the market, receiving the rating ‘Platinum’, the next 25% is rated ‘Gold’, followed by ‘Silver’ and the bottom quartile receive a rating of ‘Other’.
If a fund’s overall score increases/decreases over the year, it may move into a higher/lower quartile, which would constitute a rating change.
